About
I love photography and received my first camera at the age of 13, a Pentax K1000 that belonged to my dad who is still a keen photographer. I used to photograph aviation, visiting airshows with my father and friends. My hobby and love for photography grew and I built my own darkroom at home in the utility room. After leaving school, friends and family encouraged me to pursue a career in photography. I went to America for a couple of years and worked as a photographer on a cruise ship, taking photos and running the darkroom. When I returned to the UK I got a job in the advertising car industry as an assistant to some of the UK's top car photographers which fitted in perfectly with my love of cars. I then had an opportunity to buy a camera shop and studio and ran this successfully for several years before selling up to go freelance as a photographer for several newspapers in London. This led to acquiring a staff job on the Ilford Recorder Newspaper where I was the senior photographer. During my time there I won Press Photographer of the Year in 2008 and was a finalist in 2007 and 2009. I left the paper in 2009 to work as a freelance photographer once again. I now specialise in Automotive, Construction and PR photography. Clients I have worked for include: Ford of Britain, Ford of Europe, Ford News, Eurovia, Ringway, Ringway Jacobs, Lakehouse construction, City West Homes, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Falco ltd, Thames Gateway, The London Wildlife Trust, Countryside Properties, Arla, NELFT NHS Trust, Top Gear Magazine, BBC Delicious Magazine, The Daily Mail, The Daily Star, The Evening Standard, The Docklands, The East London Advertiser and various PR agencies. I occasionally write technical articles in photography magazines such as Photo Pro and am privileged to serve as a board member for The British Press Photographer's Association (The BPPA). In 2019 I was accepted as a full accredited member of The Association of Photographer's (AOP). I’m still as passionate for photography as I was when I was 13 years old and I look forward to discussing your next project with you. Please call or email me.
