RENEW YOUR BPPA PRESS CARD

 

To renew an existing BPPA Press Card BEFORE IT HAS EXPIRED:

1) Prepare a recent photograph of yourself that conforms to UK passport photograph criteria, as set out here
2) Complete and submit the application form here, ensuring all fields are complete and up-to-date before submitting.
3) Send £40 via Paypal to [email protected] – this is an admin fee charged to applicants by the UK Press Card Authority to cover the cost of renewed background checks.
4) Send a copy of a recent (the last 3 months) utility bill with your name and address to [email protected] to complete the checks.

To renew an existing BPPA Press Card AFTER IT HAS EXPIRED:

1) Prepare a recent photograph of yourself that conforms to UK passport photograph criteria, as set out here.
2) Complete the application form here, ensuring all fields are complete and up-to-date but, before submitting at the foot of the page, print out a copy of the completed form, with all the fields filled.
3) Submit the form.
4) Sign and date the printed copy of the form and post it to The BPPA, using the postal address at the foot of the application form.
5) Send £40 via Paypal to [email protected] – this is an admin fee charged to applicants by the UK Press Card Authority to cover the cost of renewed background checks.
6) Send a copy of a recent (within the last 3 months) utility bill with your name and address on the bill to [email protected] to complete the checks.

Q&A

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BPPA MEMBERSHIP LAPSES?
For your BPPA Press Card to remain valid, you must maintain your BPPA membership. If you allow your membership to lapse for longer than 5 days, then your Press Card will be invalidated. In such an event, to restore your Press Card you will need to pay any outstanding membership dues.

CAN I GET A BPPA PRESS CARD IF I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE BPPA?
Yes. You can apply here. The cost is equivalent to 2 years’ BPPA membership plus £40 and must be paid in full, up front.
