Simon Hill

Simon is a professional editorial and documentary photographer living in North Yorkshire but working nationally and internationally. His work has been published in hundreds of magazine titles including National Geographic, the Observer and the Sunday Times, in addition to many books and part works. The foreword to his recent book, a behind the scenes documentary project for "The Great Yorkshire Show" was written by HRH The Princess Royal. In 2017, Simon became the first British photographer to win the prestigious International Art Portrait Award. In 2019, he won the British Institute of Professional Photography Professional Photographer of the Year award and the Institute conferred on him an invited Fellowship. In 2021, Simon was elected President of the Royal Photographic Society and received an Honorary Fellowship from the Society, its highest distinction.

Entrepreneur chef, Sophie Bagley, is taking pheasants from moor to microwave with her Glorious Game over-ready meal company. The 43 year old accountant goes on shoots to collect the birds, then cooks them up into dishes that include pheasant-au-vin, pheasant lasagne and pheasant chilli con carne.

The 2019 UCI Road World Championships was the 92nd edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. It took place - in torrential rain - between 22 and 29 September 2019 in the county of Yorkshire, the fourth to be held in the United Kingdom.
