Fire crews were called to Airth Castle at 01:00 where six appliances and a high reach vehicle found a well developed fire in a two-storey, derelict building. The hotel went into administration in 2023 and has since been closed. Noticeable vandalism has been caused to surrounding areas close to where the fire took place.

As with every edition of The Tall Ships Races, the series will offer a range of sailing experiences for trainees and crews. The Race Committee will look at waypoint options to provide shorter and longer races for the fleet that will require a mixture of tactical skill and exhilarating speed to conquer. The race series will not only offer trainees a range of Sail Training experiences, it will also provide a variety of attractive options for vessel operators and provide a strong base for trainee and crew recruitment
