AIRTH, SCOTLAND - SEPTEMBER 23: Fire damage can be seen in the aftermath of a blaze at Airth Castle on September 23, 2024 in Airth Scotland. Fire crews were called to Airth Castle at 01:00 where six appliances and a high reach vehicle found a well developed fire in a two-storey, derelict building. The hotel went into administration in 2023 and has since been closed. Noticeable vandalism has been caused to surrounding areas close to where the fire took place.

At 10.45 Deputy Lord Mayor of Nottingham Councillor Mo Munir introduced the tribute. He was followed by The leader of Derby City Council Maurice Burgess. Chaplain to the Lord Mayor of Nottingham Reverend Tony De Alwiss led the prayers and then the Hymn Abide with me was sung by The crowd accompanied by the Carlton Male Voice Choir. (Twenty Welsh men not trying very hard could have out sung the crowd). John McGovern Captain of Brian Clough’s European Cup Winning team then came and made his tribute- welcomed by the crowd, and this was followed by a one minute silence, and a musical finale of ‘My Way’
