Protesters gathered outside the Scottish Parliament, against police advice, to protest at the ongoing lockdown in Scotland. Protest group Scotland Against Lockdown organised the ‘march for freedom’ and urged demonstrators to march from the Parliament to the First Minister’s official residence in Bute House. The Up'Ards and the Down'Ards, fight for the ball during the second day of the Royal Shrovetide Football match in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. For two days, over Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, hundreds of participants battle it out in a 'no rules' game dating back to the 17th Century where the aim is to get a ball into one of two goals that are positioned three miles apart at either end of Ashboune. The 2017 LinkedGolfers World Hickory Festival, Kilspindie Golf Club, Aberlady, East Lothian, Scotland. The World Hickory Open. 2nd and Final Round A field of international amateur and professional golfers teed-off today, Wednesday 4th October in the World Hickory Open at Kilspindie, Aberlady in the 13th LinkedGolfers World Hickory Festival. This year the event is being held over Scotland’s Golf Coast’s unique assembly of hickory-bespoke links featuring some of the world’s best layouts. Hickory Golf is played with original or pre-1936 replica hickory shafted clubs and yet skilful players such as last year’s winner and former Masters Champ Sandy Lyle are still able to hit their drives close to 300-yards yards and record scores of as little as 67, although this has only been achieved twice in the tournaments 12-year history.
